My family jokes, "become a sister and see the world." As part of an international community dedicated to peace through justice and dialogue, I have been changed and have seen others changed because of relationships with those who search for a life of integrity and meaning.

In first grade, I raised my hand when the Sister asked how many wanted to become sisters. I raised my hand again, when she asked how many wanted to become mothers. I finally decided to become a sister because it freed me to love so many.

In today's broken, fragile world and church, it takes people with courage to walk a different step, people who in the midst of busyness, can slow down and breathe in the beauty around them. In community, we are invited to be contemplative and active. Joan Chittister, OSB said, "Beauty is the bridge to justice." Think about what that could mean in your own life, and if you believe that you might like the challenge of working and living with a community, come check us out.
