SSND in the News

From left, Sister Mary Ann Srnka, Sister Rita Ann Eisner and friend Tes Heimerman secure a tree made from recycled plastic tablecloths.

On July 21, 2006, Fond du Lac's newspaper, The Reporter carried the photo on the left. The photo on the right was taken on the day of the parade.

The School Sisters of Notre Dame in Mount Calvary celebrated the theme "Touch the Earth with Gentleness" by building a float that was created from recycled materials. The sisters and some young friends appeared in the Mount Calvary Firemen's Parade on July 23. Their purpose was to help raise awareness about environmental concerns.

The SSND Mount Carmel Community in Mount Calvary is working with sustainable gardens using environmentally based agricultural concepts, raising free range chickens and eggs, and practicing other activities that support our earth's environment.
