A beautiful, soul searching, challenging, as well as profound tribute to Sister Fran Buschell appeared in the Catholic Missourian, the diocesan paper for Jefferson City, Missouri on January 6, 2006.

It began with thanking sister for her seven years of ministering to and advocating for prison residents in the Jefferson City Diocese as diocesan prison ministry coordinator from 1998 to 2005.

Sister Fran has spent almost her entire life as an SSND in working directly with people who are among society's most wounded. She has received numerous awards from many different organizations. The one that means the most to her is a certificate from the Vandalia residents and chaplain: "Most Compassionate."

Sister Fran is truly a disciple of Jesus and challenges all of us to widen our horizons and become involved.
