Mount Mary College President Receives 2009 Legacy Award from
Milwaukee Achiever Literacy Services
MILWAUKEE (October 13, 2009) – Dr. Eileen Schwalbach, President of Mount Mary College, received the 2009 Legacy Award from Milwaukee Achiever Literacy Services on Thursday, September 24, 2009. The honor recognized individuals who play an essential role in forwarding literacy as a means to help Milwaukee adults lead more effective lives at home, at work, and in the community.
Dr. Schwalbach was honored for Mount Mary’s College in Community program which provides computer-intensive classes focused on language arts to the near north side African American community. Held weeknights and Saturday mornings, these college-level courses provide students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to help secure or advance their employment opportunities.
