Jubilarian – 2010
Mary Grace Cieminski, SSND
Professed in July 1951
Sister Mary Grace Cieminski celebrates 60 years as a School Sister of Notre Dame. A lot has changed in the world since the mid-twentieth century, when she made her first profession of vows. Today she lives in a retirement community on the same grounds as the SUNSEED Eco-Education Center.
A meaningful time in my ministry…
I have been privileged to teach primary grades and to prepare children for their First Holy Communion.
What drew me to the SSND Community…
The desire of SSNDs to help others know and honor God in their everyday lives drew me to the community.
One thing you might like to know about the School Sisters of Notre Dame…
We SSNDs have the interests of others at heart. We enjoy being involved in helping people keep in touch with their faithful God.
In my current ministry…
As a retired Sister, I participate in the SSND ministry of “prayer and presence.” People may contact us anytime with prayer requests. Our retirement community in Mount Calvary, Wis., is home to about 20 Sisters.
Looking back and looking ahead…
An exciting SSND ministry—the SUNSEED Eco-Education Center—is located here at Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Young and old, we all have a responsibility to take care of God’s creation by taking up good, “green” habits.
