Professed in 1934
Sister Theresa celebrates 75 years as a School Sister of Notre Dame. She has ministered as a staff member with homemaking, pastoral care and teaching.
A meaningful time in my ministry…
Over the years, I made hundreds of blankets for the homeless. I enjoyed serving as housekeeper for priests in Fort Wayne, Michigan City and Goshen. I looked on this ministry as cooking for Jesus.
What drew you to the SSND Community?
My sister Marcelia joined the order before me. I liked the kind of life that she was telling me about. I didn’t make a mistake. I’ve been so content here.
What would you like people today to know about the School Sisters of Notre Dame?
I am grateful for a peaceful and prayerful life.
What is your current ministry?
I am now serving in prayer and presence ministry. I have the poor souls at heart and give them everything I can. I also pray for the sisters on mission. It’s the only way I can help them now.
Is there anything else that you would like to share?
I try to make good use of my life by doing whatever God asks of me.
