Sister Jane Marie celebrates 50 years as a School Sister of Notre Dame. She has ministered as a teacher, librarian / media specialist, pastoral care staff member and volunteer.
A meaningful time in my ministry…
No matter where I was assigned for my duty, I could feel the blessing on my work. Whatsoever He shall say to you, do ye. Leave it in the hands of the Lord.
What drew you to the SSND Community?
I was taught by the SSNDs all through grade school. In addition, my father was a dentist to the sisters and I met many of them when I worked in his office.
What would you like people today to know about the School Sisters of Notre Dame?
We have a “forward look.” We are optimistic – not looking backward. Again, we leave it in the hands of the Lord.
What is your current ministry?
My ministry is prayer and sacrifice. Mount Calvary is a beautiful place – “a little bit of heaven” as someone called it. I am who I am and present myself as I’ve been. By the grace of God, there go I.
Is there anything else that you would like to share?
A good sense of humor is a good thing to share.
