SSND Associate Questions & Answers

During your decision making process, regarding entering into SSND Association, you may have questions. Some of the following may provide answers for you. If you have a question of your own, please click on the “Ask your own question” icon.

How will I learn about becoming an associate?

During a time period of 12 to 18 months, you are encouraged to attend ongoing education classes and associate gatherings. Printed information and videos pertaining to the history. the spirit, and the Congregation today are available.

What activities take place during an associate gathering?

Prayer, education, and socializing are just a few examples of the activities.

What is a companion?

A companion is a sister or an associate who walks through the pre-covenant program with a pre-associate to assist the person in the decision making process ofbecoming an SSND associate.

Does the person continue to guide me after my initial covenanting?

The companion's responsibilities end with the covenanting ceremony or when the person withdraws from pre-covenant process.

Is being Catholic necessary to becoming an associate?

SSNDs welcome as associates persons of any faith tradition whose spirit is in harmony with the mission of Jesus Christ and the spirit of the congregation.

Am I required to pay dues or fees?

Dues are not required. There are occasional fees for special events. There is a request for financial coverage for provincial mailings.
